The staff here were amazing, they went above and beyond for us and no ask was too big. They were super friendly and shared lots of Sri Lankan knowledge and experiences with us. Siddu greeted us at reception and offered different experiences for us during our stay. We weren’t very organised so hadn’t pre planned a trip, but he organised a driver for us on the day to take us to Sigriya and wait for us to do the two hour hike, before bringing us back to the hotel. The driver was really friendly too, he waited again whilst we stopped for a snack and a drink, and was more than happy to do so. Lacsceian hosted us at the pool bar and in the restaurant. He was professional but also very friendly. He made amazing cocktails for us, and even bought us a red banana following a conversation where we mentioned we had never heard of one. They were all very sweet and lovely people! They also have a hotel boxer dog called Bruno who is very friendly :). Our hotel room was great, the bed was made up with a welcome message from leaves and flowers which was a sweet touch. Our balcony overlooked the pool and it felt like we were in the middle of the jungle - a monkey even made an appearance on the balcony! The pool bar area is nice as you can sit either in the pool or at the bar outside of the pool, and it’s covered so if it rains you can still enjoy a drink! The breakfast was amazing - best breakfast selection we had during our trip!

The room was spacious - the balcony was huge was well. The restaurant (at the hotel) had a lot of food and drink items in the menu. One thing that wasn't specifically mentioned in the menu was Sri Lankan - styled rice and curry; however, the chef made an extra effort to prepre tasty local styled rice and curry for us, because of that, we learnt what the local people normally eat. He also came out of the kitchen to check on us and chit chatted a bit with us. We felt at home. Also, the staff (at the restaurant) were friendly and helpful. Oh, and one more thing - the restaurant also serves complimentary hoppers to every guests at the hotel. Guess what, it's YUMMY! Since my wife and I had to leave at 7 a.m. for a tour, the restaurant specifically prepared two boxes of breakfast for us and handed to us on time. We were very grateful to them. The pool is clean, and the hotel is very green. Thus, the view is great.

My experience at Sundaras in Dambulla was fantastic. The hotel boasts excellent facilities that were well-maintained and comfortable throughout my stay. The room was spacious and clean, offering a relaxing environment after a day of exploring. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always ready to assist with a smile. The location was convenient, allowing easy access to nearby attractions and restaurants. Overall, I had a wonderful time at Sundaras and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Sri Lanka for its great amenities and hospitality.

It’s proximity to both Dambulla Cave Temple and Golden Temple were excellent. Virtually a ten minute walk from the hotel. The staff here were super friendly and always with a smile. We found this hotel very generous offering to drop us into town and laundry service also. The pool was very nice and refreshing with a swim up bar and food available at poolside. Perfect for cooling off after our walk up and down the mountain. Dambulla town itself is not much, we took just over an hour to look around before walking back to the Hotel.

We recently stayed at Sundaras for 4 nights and had an exceptional experience. While the room facilities were a bit simple, the outstanding service more than made up for it. The staff went above and beyond to make us feel like family, attending to our every need with genuine care and warmth. The food and drinks were top-notch, so much so that we didn't feel the need to explore other restaurants during our stay. The hotel's dedication to guest satisfaction is admirable.
